It's not my fault - Cascadia (created 2006)
This triptych explores the hidden tension and power of the earth as epitomised by the Cascadia fault off the North West coast of America and Canada.
Oil on canvas (each panel 100cm x 25cm)

Erosion (created 2006)
This piece represents the constant load placed on the landscape by the earths environment: moving, shifting, wind, rain, cold and heat, slowly wearing the rocks to sand. There are also the much shorter term attacks made by man attacking the environment for his own ends: mining, quarying, carving out. These two very different sorts of load, change immesurably what we consider to be permanent and constant. but only when we stand back do we see the results.
Wood (58cm x 42cm x 22cm)

Splitting headache - broken dream (created 2005)
The head is riven by the experiences one accumulates during the day expressed mimetically from the elations and torments of the daily grind. While the head rests and we sleep the mind is fertile, it creates, invents and explores without conscious restrictions. The mind is a landscape of infinite thought; that which is desired or is not achieved; or that, which appears resolved but still has grey areas where hope and alternatives dwell, and the hands reach out to grasp these fleeting thoughts. This work is not providing a direct answer to any questions, but hopefully it touches the imagination, and leads to the exploration of the viewer's own internal and unexplored landscape.
Wood; ciment fondu and mixed media (300cm x 100cm x 75cm)
